VANCOUVER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
The Vancouver Economic Development Commission (VEDC) provides leadership, strategic direction and actions that enhance the strength, sustainability, and diversity of Vancouver’s economy. VEDC works to attract and maintain a strong business base in Vancouver by connecting businesses to information, contact networks, and resources. VEDC provided project management and financial support for the BizMapBC project.
SMALL BUSINESS BC
Small Business BC is a not-for-profit organization funded by the federal and provincial governments, providing comprehensive business information, market research, export services, advice, and training to small business. With a full-time market research specialist on staff, and access to a range of business and demographic databases, the organization is able to address a range of information needs. Small Business BC provided data support and strategic direction for the BizMapBC project.
CITY OF VANCOUVER, BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA PROGRAM
The City of Vancouver manages a BIA Program that supports neighbourhood business groups to establish BIAs, contributing to vibrant, livable neighbourhoods. The program staff build BIA organizational capacity by encouraging the formation of business groups, and providing existing BIA associations with ongoing advice and assistance. The City of Vancouver provided financial support and strategic direction for the BizMapBC project.
WESTERN ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION CANADA
Western Economic Diversification Canada’s mandate is to develop and diversify Western Canada’s economy, using targeted investments that support sustainable communities, entrepreneurship and innovation. WD provided financial support for the BizMapBC project.
